🌟 Neighbor Spotlight: Meet Heidi Delbridge

We’re excited to kick off our Nominate a Neighbor series by highlighting someone who truly embodies what it means to build community right where she lives.

Meet Heidi Delbridge, a longtime resident of the Vista Grande neighborhood who is known for her warmth, generosity, and commitment to making her neighborhood feel like home. She was nominated by her next-door neighbor and Neighborhood University graduate, Shelby Shively.

When Shelby moved in, Heidi greeted her with a thoughtful welcome basket and even hosted a “new kitty party” in honor of Shelby’s new cat. That simple act of kindness sparked a lasting friendship and reflects the way Heidi approaches her entire neighborhood.

For over 20 years, Heidi has been finding ways to connect with those around her. She believes in meeting people where they are, whether it’s striking up a conversation in the yard or dropping off a small welcome gift. She started out connecting with neighbors through her kids’ friendships and now helps others stay connected by organizing gatherings and maintaining a contact list for the block.

Heidi’s love of gardening is evident in her vibrant yard, a reflection of the care and pride she brings to her community. Shelby shared, “She listens, brings people together, and always makes you feel like you belong. She’s the kind of neighbor every community needs.”
