5th Planting Party Hosted!

We’re 5 planting parties in, and the Stratton Meadows neighborhood is starting to transform into an edible, beautiful, and water-wise oasis. On May 30th, 20 volunteers, including Hey Neighbor staff, Stratton Meadows neighbors, Colorado College students, and Fountain Creek Watershed staff spent six hours transforming the front yard of neighbor Joel Adams. Together, they planted 60 shrubs and perennials, including fruit trees, berry bushes, and native pollinator plants.

One highlight: the Sunrise Club at Colorado College didn't just show up to help, they secured grant funding that helped make it happen. Watching young people show up with that kind of energy and commitment was genuinely inspiring.

This is what neighbor-powered change looks like.

The Pikes Peak Bulletin covered the event and captured the story beautifully. Read the full article here.
