What happens when an entire neighborhood turns its front yards into an open-air gallery? The Divine Redeemer neighborhood found out Saturday, October 3, at its sixth annual Divine Art Walk.
Neighbors transformed their yards into welcoming booths, filling the streets with creativity and conversation. Shoppers enjoyed the sunny day as they strolled from yard to yard, browsing paintings, stained glass, jewelry, woodwork, ironwork, baked goods, clothing, and more! It was wonderful to see neighbors and community members catching up and connecting over art. Local vendors Pure Matcha and Susanna’s Comfort Cuisine added delicious food and drinks to the festivities.
Young artists Jack and Rose brought a special touch to the event, selling custom-made prints with help from their friends through their very own Print-O-Matic—a clever creation built from cardboard and paint. For just $5, payable in cash or through Venmo, shoppers could support the young artists and take home an original print.
The Divine Art Walk is a wonderful way to support neighborhood artists and local businesses while bringing neighbors and the wider community together. What creative, community-friendly activities could you and your neighbors dream up?
