Boo Fest Brings Joy & Generosity to the Neighborhood
Sky Zone on Woodmen Road was full of laughter, color, and community spirit during this year’s Boo Fest, hosted by Neighborhood Leader Justina Yvonne Baker with support from Nikki of First Lady Connections. A special thanks to Shannon and her awesome team for their contribution.
The event attracted many families and offered a variety of activities, including face painting. Sky Zone generously donated a portion of the proceeds to the Mt Camel Veterans Service Center, and Ronald McDonald’s Charity received tabs. Additionally, donations of canned goods were made to Care and Share, and $500 was donated by Carmax Care. Coats and clothing were donated to Springs Rescue Mission.
The highlight of the event was the superheroes, especially thanks to Buzzy Bee, who brought Thatman, Blade, Spider-Man, and Deadpool to life. Thatman even rode around in his iconic vehicle, allowing kids to tour the car and capture memorable moments with him. The event was filled with a diverse array of costumes, including both fun and scary options, as well as family-themed costumes. The kids couldn’t resist indulging in the candy and laughter that filled the air. The trunk or treat was a delightful addition to the overall enjoyable experience.
Thank you, Justina, for creating an experience that brought neighbors together and reminded us of the joy of showing up for one another. It beautifully captured the spirit of the season.
