Mario Kart in the Park!

On a perfect summer evening in Meadows Park, neighbors gathered under the glow of the setting sun and the silhouette of Pikes Peak for Hey Neighbor’s first-ever Mario Kart in the Park night. With Pikes Peak Cinema’s giant blow-up movie screen and game console set up against a stunning mountain backdrop, the scene was set for a night of friendly competition and connection.

Families, friends, and new faces came together to race, cheer each other on, and enjoy the simple joy of playing outside together. Kids and adults alike took turns steering their favorite characters across the finish line, while others joined in on a game of cornhole or kicked around a soccer ball nearby.

Thanks to Underline, everyone stayed fueled with popcorn and cold drinks. As the sun dipped lower and the younger racers headed home, a lively crew of adults kept the fun going, proving that you’re never too old for a good Mario Kart showdown.

This was our first run at bringing neighbors together through video games in the park, and judging by the laughter and cheers echoing across Meadows Park, it certainly won’t be the last.

Stay tuned for the next Neighborhood Play Day. You won’t want to miss it!
