This month, we’re spotlighting someone who’s a great friend to both two-legged and four-legged neighbors alike. Anna Lambacher, a proud Colorado Springs resident for more than 10 years, has lived in her Southeast COS neighborhood for the past six. During that time, she’s gotten to know nearly everyone on the block AND their pets! A devoted animal lover (and former animal law enforcement officer!), Anna is quick to help whenever a human or furry neighbor is in need.
Her neighbors know her as friendly, kind, and always willing to lend a hand. Over the years, she has helped return escaped dogs, pet-sat for neighbors while they were out of town, and often brings in a neighbor’s dog that knows how to unlock the front door! Anna has also used her background in car detailing and carpet cleaning to help neighbors out during messy situations, such as a flooded basement or a can of paint spilled all over a car.
She says her favorite things about Colorado Springs are the strong sense of community and the endless opportunities to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Although her neighborhood has changed over the years as residents have moved in and out, Anna hopes to help restore its once tight-knit feel by bringing back neighborhood block parties and inspiring others to do the same!
She plans to kick off her plan with a Fourth of July gathering, inviting everyone on the block so longtime residents and newcomers alike can connect, build relationships, and experience the same sense of belonging she’s felt the past six years.
Thank you, Anna, for playing such a pawsitive role in your neighborhood and community!
