Stellina Community Constellations

Last month, our staff gathered at Stellina Pizza Cafe in Mid Shooks Run for a fundraising night benefiting Hey Neighbor. Ten percent of the evening’s proceeds were graciously donated to Hey Neighbor, and all four Community Coordinators were there to connect with patrons and share more about our work.

As guests enjoyed pizza, pasta, and gelato, we made our way around the restaurant, introducing ourselves, answering questions about Hey Neighbor, and thanking people for their support. We also had the opportunity to meet board members, Neighborhood Leaders, and community members who came out to support us.

It was a wonderful evening. For all four of us new Community Coordinators, it was a chance to meet members of the public and share our passion for building strong connections and vibrant neighborhoods. Between conversations and sips of Stellina’s delicious rosemary lemonade, we met people who seemed excited to learn about Hey Neighbor and inspired to host gatherings of their own after hearing about our 150 Tables Across COS initiative.

The evening was a powerful reminder of what happens when local businesses and residents come together. The name Stellina means “little star.” A single star shines on its own, but a constellation is formed when many stars come together to make something greater – and beautiful! We are grateful for partners like Stellina and for the neighbors who continue to commit their time, energy, and heart to building a more neighborly Colorado Springs. Each of us brings our own light, but together, we are helping create the kind of community where everyone can shine.
