When One Door Closes, Stratton Meadows Neighbors Open Another

Stratton Meadows neighbors gather for coffee, conversation, and connection.

After the closure of the Meadows Park Community Center, Stratton Meadows residents have continued to come together to talk about the future of their neighborhood. When one door closes, another opens and neighbors got creative about finding new ways and places to connect.

With support from Hey Neighbor, Stratton Meadows resident Nikki Fetterhoff took the lead on organizing a Neighborhood Cafe and reimagining what community space could look like. Thanks to the generosity of Restoration Church, located right in the neighborhood, neighbors gathered for a joyful morning of coffee and conversation. A big thank you to our partner Kangaroo Coffee for keeping everyone caffeinated.

Breaking the Neighborhood Cafe attendance record with 26 neighbors, Stratton Meadows showed up in full force. K Land resident and community organizer Coach T joined the gathering to share wisdom about building community and encouraged neighbors to keep the momentum going.

Neighbors left with full hearts and big ideas and are already planning their next gathering, a neighborhood cornhole tournament.

Interested in hosting your own Neighborhood Cafe or neighborhood cornhole tournament? We would love to help. Did you know Hey Neighbor has cornhole boards available for rent?
