Neighborly Connections Over Crepes and Coffee!

Golden Hills Neighborhood Cafe event

A lively group of Golden Hills neighbors built lasting connections this month as they met over steaming mugs of coffee and delicate crepes at the newly opened Crepe Amour. These neighbors took advantage of our Neighborhood Cafe program and gathered for a casual café meetup that turned into the start of something special.

Though many of the neighbors had never met before, the energy in the room told a different story—it felt like a reunion of longtime friends. The ease and connections were thanks in part to Angela Puente, who hosted the gathering and set the tone with thoughtful icebreaker questions and get-to-know-you prompts. Each guest also had a personalized table card, making it easy to remember names and feel instantly welcomed.

As they sipped and chatted, ideas for future get-togethers began to bloom. One neighbor offered to host community yoga classes, and the group scheduled a neighborhood cornhole tournament through Hey Neighbor for August. Most importantly, the group had such a good time that they decided to make these café meetups a monthly tradition.

This simple morning gathering showed the power of intentional connection—and how easily strangers can become friends when given the space to do so. Golden Hills just got a little more connected…and caffeinated!
