Creating Connection and Joy for Our Aging Neighbors
Hey Neighbor was honored to join an Age Friendly Holiday Coffee and Appreciation Gathering alongside Pikes Peak Agency on Aging, Age Well, the UCCS Aging Center Health Circle, the UCCS JAWS program, and many other agencies and nonprofits serving our aging neighbors.
The gathering took place at the New Senior Center, where participants enjoyed meaningful conversation, shared connections, and a guided tour and lecture hosted by the center. Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to interact directly with seniors, make introductions, and strengthen relationships across organizations working in neighborhoods, traditional retirement communities, and non-traditional senior living environments.
Isolation, loneliness, and senior suicide are urgent concerns facing our community. This gathering created space for organizations to come together with a shared commitment to address these challenges collaboratively and explore solutions rooted in connection, care, and belonging.
Hey Neighbor shared our mission and vision centered on joy, fun, and relationship building. We support Neighborhood Leaders who bring neighbors together across generations to build trust, create vibrant communities, and spark positive change right where people live.
The highlight of the day was spending time with seniors and seeing their smiles, laughter, and genuine joy. We are excited to support aging neighbors through fun, welcoming programs and strong partnerships with like-minded organizations. Together, we are creating communities where seniors feel seen, connected, and joyful.
