Stronger Together: D1 & D2 Neighborhood Leaders Unite!
Community Coordinator Marilyn Dawson hosted a Neighborhood Leader meeting for Districts 1 and 2 at the East Library, and it was a wonderful success. Neighborhood Leaders from District One and District Two gathered to connect, share stories, and exchange ideas rooted in their passions and visions for their neighborhoods.
The meeting created space for collaboration, learning, and mutual support. Leaders discussed upcoming events, shared concerns, and explored ways to strengthen connections across neighborhoods. By the end of the gathering, the group unanimously agreed to establish a monthly Neighborhood Leader meeting to stay connected, informed, and supported.
Looking ahead, the group also began dreaming big together and agreed to organize a New Year’s Eve event in 2026. Attendees of this meeting will serve as the founding members of the planning committee, laying the groundwork for a celebration built by neighbors for neighbors.
Participants were also treated to an inspiring presentation from Neighborhood Leader Dawn Barrows, who generously shared event planning strategies she has successfully used in her own neighborhood. Her experience, practical insights, and enthusiasm sparked great conversation and left leaders feeling energized and confident.
To support ongoing connection, a shared contact list of Neighborhood Leaders will be compiled and distributed so everyone can easily stay in touch and collaborate. The meeting itself was filled with laughter, joy, and delicious refreshments, making it a true reflection of the community spirit we strive to cultivate.
Thank you to all the Neighborhood Leaders who showed up, shared their time, and continue to invest in building vibrant, connected neighborhoods. This is the power of neighbors coming together.
