Hey Neighbor Play Day with Air O Sport

Hey Neighbor hosted a special Play Day with Air O Sport as an opportunity for our Neighborhood Leaders, board members, and staff to connect with one another in a relaxed and joyful setting. The goal was simple: give our network a chance to meet face to face, build stronger relationships, and have fun together. Play makes connection feel natural, and this day reminded us how meaningful it is when neighbors share time, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition.

Air O Sport brought their incredible team and equipment to help us learn and play their game, which blends The action of ultimate frisbee, the teamwork of basketball, and the accuracy of disc golf. What makes Air O Sport so special is not just the game itself but the spirit behind it. Air O Sport was born from the vision of Mike and Stephanie Kinner, who dreamed of creating a sport that embodies inclusivity. This is not just a game; it's a community builder where everyone, regardless of ability, can participate and thrive.

Air O Sport focuses on empowering people to scroll less, play more, and be a positive force for the next generation. Their dream is to see Air O Sport recognized in the Paralympics and Special Olympics. It is a sport that brings people into movement, teamwork, and shared joy.

That intention showed up on our Play Day. Whether someone came in excited to compete or a little unsure about sports, it did not matter. The Air O Sport team has an almost magical way of inviting everyone in with encouragement and playfulness. Very quickly, we were cheering for one another, laughing when plays went sideways, and celebrating small wins. People who had never met before became teammates. Conversations continued long after the games ended.

This is why we value this partnership. Air O Sport is more than a game. It is a tool for community building. It aligns with our belief that meaningful connection does not have to be complicated. Sometimes, it just takes a ball in the air, a shared goal, and the willingness to try something new together.
