Say Farewell to CONO and Hello to Hey Neighbor!
After spending the past year reflecting, dreaming, adapting, and growing, we’re excited to share a new name for CONO that captures the heart of who we are and where we’re going. Please allow us to reintroduce ourselves. We are Hey Neighbor!
We believe real change starts small: one wave, one porch, one “hey, neighbor!” at a time. In a time when loneliness has been declared a national epidemic, building strong, supportive neighbor-to-neighbor relationships is not just nice, it’s necessary. By helping people feel connected where they live, we lay the foundation for healthier, more vibrant communities that can take on big challenges together.
CONO started in 1976 as the Council of Neighborhood Organizations, and our organization has been working to help neighbors take action to love where they live ever since. Today, we move forward as Ney Neighbor, continuing our mission to inspire neighbors to create vibrant communities.
We are dedicated to helping neighbors make connections, build relationships, and create change in their communities, and we do this through our programs:
Neighborhood Gatherings that make it easier for people to meet and connect
Neighborhood University, where neighbors learn how their city works and how to become more engaged citizens
Neighborhood Network, which strengthens leadership and communication across communities
If you want to love where you live, we invite you to start with Hey Neighbor!
